In the spirit of Throwback Thursdays, I thought I’d post this old Entertainment Tonight interview I found with Joan Collins promoting her (then) new fragrance, Spectacular. I already knew that she was the face of Revlon’s Scoundrel, but vintage bottles of Scoundrel are stupid expensive for being what’s basically a drugstore fragrance blessed by royalty, plus Spectacular has notes of tuberose, amber, and Just Take All of My Money Now, Alexis Carrington. Needless to say, I consider this discovery to be a bit of a game changer.
And while I definitely appreciate this interview with making my life a little more…spectacular, what I really love is how Dame Collins makes it clear that she thinks the last few seasons of Dynasty were trash, and she has no interest in pretending otherwise. I have no idea what Spectacular smells like, but if it smells anywhere near as good as Joan Collins was over that “diabolical dialogue,” I bet it smells incredible.
Oh, and speaking of people in this clip who have no f***s to give, Mary Hart and/or her stylist certainly deserve a First Runner Up for saying “yes!” to this
dress red vinyl jacket:
The 80s really were a helluva drug, y’all.
